My name is Maria Shyshak and in the spring of 2024 I created the ENAVE project. ENAVE is my soul.
This project is about the other me, the person I am inside, about my thoughts, dreams, and their experiences. ENAVE is an English-language alternative rock band where I go beyond my academic background.
The time is a song with a long history, which began in 2014, when the first drafts of the lyrics appeared and stayed in a drawer until 2020.
When I came to my parents’ house in my hometown of Orikhiv (Zaporizhzhia region), I sat down at my piano and started playing the melody, and little by little, the song appeared with the lyrics from the drawer. It was the last time I played my instrument, and now it stands alone in the city under shelling, in a house that no longer has windows, in a city that is slowly becoming a ghost.
I spent my entire childhood in Orikhiv, where I first went on stage, sang for the first time, played a huge August forster concert grand piano for the first time. Then there was the Zaporizhzhia Music College, where I studied academic singing, but I graduated as a theorist because I unfortunately had a voice loss. And in 2014, I came to Lviv for the first time for a weekend and stayed here – first at the preparatory course at the Lviv Music Academy, and a year later I became a student of Myroslav Skoryk in the composition class at the same academy. After graduating from the conservatory, I continued my studies at Ivan Franko University as a musicologist.
My classical works have been performed at various festivals and competitions and won prizes, and my piece “Prayer” based on the words of Borys Antonych was performed in the program of the concert “Classics of Independence”.
Since 2017, she has been the co-founder and head of the music department of the School of Arts “the Free and Caring”, whose main goal is to educate artistically educated children.
Here, children create their own bands under the mentorship of talented teachers, compose music, and learn to understand music. Music is everything that surrounds us
